HYLIO MANUFACTURER ADVANTAGE:
PRE-REGISTRATION = FASTER LICENSING!

With Hylio’s assistance, customers typically achieve full licensing for their AgDrones in three months or less, thanks to our unique FAA pre-registration process.

As the aircraft manufacturer, Hylio pre-registers each drone with the FAA at our factory before shipment. Upon purchase, customers simply file a quick registration transfer from Hylio to themselves.

Ownership transfers immediately upon submission, no need to wait for FAA confirmation. We include this pre-filled registration form with every drone, so you can send it off right away. After completing the transfer, you can proceed with your FAA 44807 exemption and then your Part 137 certification.

Because Hylio handles the initial registration in-house, our customers save an average of 3–6 months compared to providers who skip this step, cutting total licensing time from 8+ months to as little as 3.

Our expert staff guides you through every stage. The major steps are outlined in detail below. Contact us at +1-832-219-6778 or sales@hyl.io to get started.

Step One: Transfer FAA Registration

All HYL-series and future Hylio drones come pre-registered with the FAA. After purchase, customers simply file a registration transfer from Hylio to themselves. Ownership transfers immediately upon submission, no need to wait for FAA confirmation.

Hylio includes a pre-filled registration form with every drone, so all you need to do is send it off.

If you own an older model (such as the AG-series) that was not pre-registered, Hylio provides clear documentation and assistance for completing the standard registration process.

Step Two: Obtain 44807 Exemption

All spray drone operators must obtain a 44807 exemption from the FAA. Hylio assists every customer, at no additional cost, with submitting of this application. The process typically takes about two months from filing to approval.

The FAA now maintains a blanket 44807 exemption system covering a pre-approved list of spray drones (see PDF below). Once you’re approved for any aircraft on this list, you can legally operate all other listed models. If you already hold a valid 44807 exemption, you do not need to reapply when pursuing your Part 137 certification.

Step Three: Part 137 Approval

Next, submit your Part 137 Certification application to the FAA. Hylio provides detailed instructions, pre-filled forms, and expert guidance throughout the process.

This step usually takes about two weeks and typically does not require an in-person interview or inspection (though the FAA may conduct annual reviews after certification). Once approved, and after meeting the additional requirements below, you’ll be authorized to conduct spray operations.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

The above describes the Part 137 Certification process, however, please note that the following are also still requirements to legally operate your spray drone within the US:

• FAA Part 107 SUAS Pilot Certificate (see section below)
• Pesticide Applicator License (see section below)
3rd class Airman Medical Certificate
